Engine choice: The 1.2 MPI (84 hp, 5-speed manual) is the low-stress pick — no turbo, no direct injection, no coking, no gearbox drama. Slow by modern standards but the least risky unit. The 1.0 T-GDi G3LC (100–120 hp) with optional 48V mild-hybrid is punchier and frugal (4.5–5.1 litres real-world), but brings five potential pain points: direct-injection coking from 60,000 km, DCT judder, 12V battery drain, fuel pump recall risk, and Bluelink connectivity gremlins.
