The Cupra Tavascan I (from 2024) is Cupra's first electric SUV coupé — built on the VW Group MEB platform as a dual-motor version (APP550) with up to 250 kW system output and all-wheel drive. Visually the most ambitious model in the lineup, technically a close relative of the VW ID.5 and Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron.

As a new MEB model the Tavascan carries all the structural platform weaknesses. The 12V battery problem is documented here as well — control units in standby drain the 12V auxiliary battery, and owners have reported complete system failure despite a full main battery. Software updates have reduced but not eliminated the issue.

Phantom emergency braking (ADAS) is a standalone problem on the Tavascan: unprovoked full brake applications while parking, with no obstacle present.
