The Ford Galaxy III (WA6, 2006–2015) is the more practical sister of the S-Max: taller, with a full seven-seat concept and more room for family and luggage. Technically it shares its platform, engines and therefore most of its weaknesses with the S-Max — know one and you know the other. The biggest buying warning, as with the S-Max, is the Powershift automatic, which judders and leaks oil; on top of that there is a recall for a hard brake pedal caused by vacuum-pump failure on the 2.0 TDCi, which must have been done.
