The Megane E-Tech Electric shows known phantom braking on the motorway from the driver assistance radar, especially when overtaking lorries. Software updates are available but the problem partially persists.

Multiple owners report charging sessions that won't start or are interrupted. The cause can be a motor winding insulation fault that requires a complete motor replacement.

The distance radar triggers unfounded emergency braking on motorways, especially when overtaking lorries. Safety-critical situation that should be improved via software update.
The heat pump produces loud operating noises with vibrations at the steering wheel and pedals at sub-zero temperatures. In some cases a heat pump fault triggers the message 'charging impossible' and requires a software reset or replacement.
The OpenR Link system shows frequent software bugs: volume control with a delay, parking sensor false alarms, drive modes switching arbitrarily. Software updates only partially resolve the problems.
Like other electric vehicles, the Megane E-Tech mainly uses regeneration for deceleration. Mechanical brakes therefore rust faster and can seize.
Without heat pump consumption rises to over 24 kWh/100 km in winter; trips over 300 km in winter are barely feasible. Even with heat pump, winter range is often 35–40% below the WLTP figure.
