The combination of 102 kWh battery, RWD, and 340 hp makes the RS RWD the sleeper of the lineup. Fast, long-range (320+ miles), and finally the Blazer's aggressive looks match the dynamics underneath.

Symptoms: Loss of drive, powertrain warning, sudden power loss
Center touchscreen freezes or goes black. Navigation, climate, backup camera go offline. Primary reason for the December 2023 sales halt.
Symptoms: Black screen, no touch input, navigation drops out
Charging power drops drastically above 55% SoC. Some vehicles max at 30 kW even on 350 kW stations. The 310V architecture is the fundamental limiter.
Symptoms: Extremely slow charging, session aborted, curve flattens early
Vehicle Weaknesses 10
GM halted sales December 2023, four months after launch. Edmunds documented 23 fault codes on their test vehicle. Sales resumed March 2024 after major update.
~40,000 Blazer EVs affected. Harness can become damaged, parking brake activates while driving or fails when parked.
Improperly heat-treated strikers can fracture — doors may open while driving. All four replaced.
Manufacturing defect in right front lower control arm can cause fracture and loss of vehicle control.
AEB activates aggressively without any obstacle. Particularly alarming at highway speeds.

Charging power drops drastically above 55% SoC (sometimes to 4 kW). 310V battery architecture fundamentally limits speed.
Faulty cooling circuit valves trigger warnings and degrade charging or cabin heating. Ultium parts availability takes weeks.
Some Blazer EVs restart after being turned off and exited. Likely a software glitch in the anti-theft system.
Sharp whistle above 45 mph around driver window/A-pillar. Lower window seals appear to be the cause.
