Chevrolet Blazer EV LT AWD
Ultium dual motor with AWD. In SS trim up to 615 hp in WOW mode — faster than a Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Same software issues as the single motor, same charging speed limitation from 310V architecture. Hardware mechanically solid.
All-wheel sensibility
300 hp distributed to all four wheels — competent but not exciting. Solid choice for those who need AWD. Charging speed at 150 kW trails Tesla and Hyundai.
Engine Weaknesses 2
Same recall as single motor variant. Affects all AWD Blazer EVs including SS.
Symptoms: Loss of drive, powertrain warning
Same software issues as the single motor. Affects all Blazer EV variants including SS.
Symptoms: Black screen, no touch input, navigation drops out
Vehicle Weaknesses 10
GM halted sales December 2023, four months after launch. Edmunds documented 23 fault codes on their test vehicle. Sales resumed March 2024 after major update.
~40,000 Blazer EVs affected. Harness can become damaged, parking brake activates while driving or fails when parked.
Improperly heat-treated strikers can fracture — doors may open while driving. All four replaced.
Manufacturing defect in right front lower control arm can cause fracture and loss of vehicle control.
AEB activates aggressively without any obstacle. Particularly alarming at highway speeds.
Center touchscreen goes black or freezes while driving. Navigation, climate, backup camera go offline. GM bulletin PIT6362.
Charging power drops drastically above 55% SoC (sometimes to 4 kW). 310V battery architecture fundamentally limits speed.
Faulty cooling circuit valves trigger warnings and degrade charging or cabin heating. Ultium parts availability takes weeks.
Some Blazer EVs restart after being turned off and exited. Likely a software glitch in the anti-theft system.
Sharp whistle above 45 mph around driver window/A-pillar. Lower window seals appear to be the cause.
