MINI MINI Countryman
The electric motor of the new Cooper SE/Aceman range (U-series) is built on a newly developed EV platform and is considered very reliable according to early test reports. Reported issues are limited to software error messages and occasional charge flap sensor failures; mechanical drivetrain issues have not been documented so far.

204 hp electric drive — instant torque, but ~2,000 kg and the SUV body limit the fun. Solid everyday companion.
Engine Weaknesses 2
After several consecutive DC charging sessions, power output is throttled to 10–60 percent of rated power without any dashboard warning. The cause is overheating of the power electronics. Primarily affects long-distance journeys with multiple fast charges.
Symptoms: Noticeably reduced acceleration after DC charging on long trips, power recovers only slowly during normal driving
Early reports on U-era electric MINIs (Cooper E/SE F66, Aceman, Countryman E U25) show occasional charging issues and software errors that are addressed via OTA updates. Long-term reliability not yet established.
Symptoms: Error message during charging, reduced charging power, infotainment software crashes
Vehicle Weaknesses 7
Signal faults in Continental's integrated brake system MK-C2 can in very rare cases lead to increased brake pedal resistance and failure of ABS and DSC. Free replacement of the component.
The new infotainment system of the U-era shows teething problems: settings change without user input. Software updates are applied over-the-air or at the dealer.
Early user reports criticise reduced material quality in visible areas and the removal of physical controls compared to the predecessor F60.
The tailgate reopens after closing. The problem has been documented in forums and occurs repeatedly on certain vehicles. Dealer diagnosis recommended.
After charging at a faulty charging point, Check Control messages about the high-voltage system appear repeatedly. A workshop diagnosis and software reset are required.
Test drives and user experience describe the suspension as rather vague with a very light steering offering insufficient road feedback. Unusual by MINI standards.
The painted and soft surfaces in the cabin scratch very easily through normal use. Door cards and the centre console without padding are particularly susceptible.
