Chevrolet Z/28 · Coupé
7.0-liter, aluminum block, titanium rods, dry sump, hand-assembled — GM's love letter to the NA V8. 505 hp at 6,100 rpm. Revs past 7,000 and sounds like a caged animal. Sodium-filled exhaust valves and titanium intakes — light but fragile. Known problem: exhaust valve guides wear, valves can drop = total destruction. GM switched to 100% inspection from 2011, Z/28 (2014-2015) has updates. Check valve lash every 15,000 miles.
