6.2-liter, aluminum block, port injection — the last uncomplicated V8 in the crossplane tradition. 426 hp at 5,900 rpm. Deep rumble at idle, aggressive past 4,000. No DI tick, no AFM gamble. Water pump and thermostat occasionally around 50k miles. Oil pump has known O-ring issue: cheap part, engine-out repair. With synthetic oil and 5k-mile changes, runs past 150k without drama. Tuning: 500+ hp with cam and intake, 600+ with supercharger on stock block.
426 hp NA V8, TR6060 — the honest way
No blower, no turbo, no cylinder deactivation — 6.2 liters and a cam that screams past 4,000 rpm. The LS3 has no DI tick and no AFM gamble. The TR6060 has long throws but mechanical precision. Visibility is a disaster. The exhaust note is the best in the segment.
Engine Weaknesses 2
O-ring on oil pump pickup tube fails, oil pressure drops. Classic LS issue. Cheap part, engine-out repair.
Symptoms: Oil pressure gauge fluctuating, ticking on cold start
Water pump leaks or thermostat sticks — coolant system bleeding after replacement is critical.
Symptoms: Coolant temp rising, puddle under engine

Torque tube and driveshaft create noticeable vibrations at certain speeds. Balance and bearing check needed.
Steering rack develops play — vague center feel at higher speeds.

Pinion seal on the rear diff leaks. Diff fluid visible on inside of rear wheel.
