Recall TBR24003-2: The rear left seat belt buckle can open unintentionally during abrupt driving maneuvers. KBA recall, repair free of charge in approx. 30 minutes via a plastic cover.
The vehicle software saves driver profiles (seat, steering wheel, mirrors) unreliably. Repeated spontaneous logouts from the user profile occur. The manufacturer describes many defects as 'series standard'.
Since April 2024, Smart #3 owners have reported navigation failures. Traffic sign recognition deteriorated after the July 2024 update. No permanent fix available so far.
The traffic sign recognition incorrectly displays low speed limits on motorways. Partially worsened after the July 2024 software update. Persistent warning beeps until manually deactivated.
The reversing camera is unprotected by design and gets so heavily soiled by rain and dirt that it is frequently barely usable or completely obscured. No automatic cleaning is available.
Driver assistance warning sounds reset after every restart and must be manually deactivated each time. Affects all vehicles due to software architecture.
