MINI MINI Aceman
The electric motor of the new Cooper SE/Aceman range (U-series) is built on a newly developed EV platform and is considered very reliable according to early test reports. Reported issues are limited to software error messages and occasional charge flap sensor failures; mechanical drivetrain issues have not been documented so far.

Engine Weaknesses 2
After several consecutive DC charging sessions, power output is throttled to 10–60 percent of rated power without any dashboard warning. The cause is overheating of the power electronics. Primarily affects long-distance journeys with multiple fast charges.
Symptoms: Noticeably reduced acceleration after DC charging on long trips, power recovers only slowly during normal driving
Early reports on U-era electric MINIs (Cooper E/SE F66, Aceman, Countryman E U25) show occasional charging issues and software errors that are addressed via OTA updates. Long-term reliability not yet established.
Symptoms: Error message during charging, reduced charging power, infotainment software crashes
Vehicle Weaknesses 6
The integrated braking system MK-C2 is subject to a recall on closely related U-era models (F66, U25). Whether the Aceman is also affected should be checked with the dealer.
The windscreen wipers can stop in the middle of the windscreen while driving and remain stationary for several seconds before resuming. A safety-relevant issue in poor visibility.
The new infotainment system shares software issues with other U-era models. A software recall has already been confirmed for the Aceman that could not be applied via remote update.
As with other MINI U-era models, early owners criticise the material quality and the reduced number of physical controls compared to earlier MINI generations.
The vehicle starts charging immediately even though a charging time window has been set for cheaper electricity tariffs. A software update resolves the issue temporarily.
When the rear seatbacks are folded down for boot-loading mode, a persistent yellow warning is shown on the display indicating the rear seatback is not secured. Annoying in everyday use.
